Kissing on lips – While on the same trip, when Jan-di goes to comfort a heartbroken Ji-Hoo, and begs him to be happy, because she cannot bear to see him unhappy, he ends up kissing her on her lips. Thanks to their common love for fishing, Jan-di gets to go sailing with Ji-Hoo. Who can forget these words of Ji-hoo in reply to Jan-di’s question, “Fishing, on this boat?”. Sailing & Fishing – “With a white cloth and the wind, we can go anywhere”. While both Jun-pyo and Ji-Hoo hold her by her shoulders on several occasions, it isn’t until this point that one of them actually hugs her. This is the first time that Jan-di is actually hugged. Hugging – While talking about what happened in Paris, between him and Seo-Hyun, Ji-Hoo who is still a little confused regarding his feelings, hugs Jan-di. Since Jun-pyo has fear of water and cannot swim, Ji-hoo rushes to her rescue, saving her from drowning. Saving Jan-di’s life – While holidaying in New Caldonia, Jan-di goes for a swim, but ends up having leg cramps. This is the first time either Jun-pyo or Ji-hoo ever kissed Jan-di. Kissing on her forehead – Before heading off to Paris, grateful for making him realize that it is important to follow his heart, Ji-Hoo kisses Jan-di on her forehead, while wishing her goodbye.
Since Jan-di is in love with Ji-Hoo, this moment is even more special for her. This is the very first time Jan-di dances with anyone.
So, while there are moments that Jun-pyo rescues Jan-di, Jan-di always considers Ji-hoo as her knight in shining armor/ fireman.ĭancing – When Jan-di feels lost at Seo-Hyun’s welcome party, Ji-Hoo who is unaware about Jun-pyo’s intentions, asks Jan-di to dance with him, to put her at ease, and make her feel included. Except for the brief moment when he is in Paris, Ji-hoo is the one that shows up every time Jan-di is in trouble. Knight in Shining Armor / Fireman – When Jan-di is bullied by the students of Shinhwa, it is Ji-Hoo that comes to her rescue first. Though Jun-pyo does end up getting Jan-di, it is with Ji-hoo, that Jan-di shares some of her many first and best memories. Watching it made me fall in love with Ji-hoo all over again, and realize once again that the bond Ji-hoo and Jan-di share is without a doubt a lot more special.
Listening to Kim Hyun-Joong’s latest video release, “ NEWWAY Highlight #5 – Because I’m Stupid” brought back memories of Ji-Hoo and Jan-di from Boys Over Flowers, which resulted in me revisiting my favorite scenes between the two, from the show.
